Anybody else seen this? I could not find a post about it. I've never seen a "sirius update" message. Yes, these cars are rolling computers so a hard reboot can and does often works for fixing many issues. Thanks, Rebecca. I'll try that if it ever happens again. That looks like the page I visited when renewing Sirius XM service. Probably Windows CE and the Entertainment applications have memory leaks. After disconnecting the battery, I noticed that radio stations would display their real frequency instead of "" or the wrong frequency, as often happened previously.

One problem is that the refresh instructions say to tune to a particular channel, and that you should hear audio. But, with the system stuck,. After a certain amount of hassle, I followed the original suggestion of disconnecting the 12 Volt battery and can confirm that it worked for me also.

And, all my settings appear to be intact. I have this same problem. I just don't understand, looking at your pic, which nut to remove to disconnect the auxilliary battery. Can you clarify just a bit so I don't screw anything up or electrocute myself :twister:? I see two nuts on the left side of your pic, one in the upper center, and two on the bottom that I'm guessing you said not to touch. Had the same problem with my wife's C-Max. But instead of disconnecting battery I just pulled the fuse to the radio.

Everthing reset and started working when I put the fuse back in. This makes me wonder if doing an occasional power reboot of the car would have reduced the battery drain problems that may have been fixed with the software update. I just fixed it using the fuse option! The fuse box is located under the glove compartment. I tried two of the fuses: one labeled for the radio after I pulled it out, I turned on the car and the radio showed my Sirius stations but still no sound , then one labeled datalink.

Once I turned the car back on, I had sound again! Thanks for posting possible fixes. I freaked out when this happened to my car and took it to the dealership with Sirius had no idea how to fix it. They took 3 hours and told me that it just needed reprogramed. I'm glad to know I can fix it myself if it happens again :. Thanks for the fuse fix! I couldn't find a fuse puller, so I went to the dealership and told the service guy what I found on this forum.

Initially, he said that pulling the fuse could have bad unforseen consequences and said I should opt for the battery disconnect method which is what they default to at the Service Dept, calling it a "hard reset". However, he looked at the battery connections and, suddenly feeling a little wary, opted to do the fuse thing.

It worked like a charm though he couldn't find a fuse puller, so he opted for a pair of pliers, instead and he didn't charge me anything. He noted that I use an iPhone with my car, which he cautioned, is what they believe to cause these issues in the first place.

He said that the dept. But he did recommend that I get the Ford MySync update and install it at my next opportunity. I realize this is getting to be an old thread but I just had the same thing happen this morning when SiriusXM pushed out a new channel lineup update. My radio was locked up for my entire 40 minute drive--no sound, no hands-free with my phone, could not power off the radio, basically trashed it. After wading through 5 minutes of automated prompts the most help I got from an XM "tech" was sending a refresh signal which I had already done.

I also tried a factory reset with no luck. I appreciate people who take the time to share information and help others--probably saved me a trip to the dealership. By the way, I have an Android phone so I think Sirius gets the credit for this one rather than Apple Strangely enough, I also experienced this problem on 13th of Aug Echo the usefulness of the forum It beats downtime at the shop I tried the fuse 79, and it didn't seem to work.

I started the car again one more time before trying the battery disconnect, and this time the radio worked. However, I cannot get the Entertainment screen to come up on the console screen. The home screen shows the entertainment screen bar at the bottom left as always, but when I touch it nothing happens.

I get the beep like it is registering, but no action. Just happened to me today. Reset my signal and pulled the fuse - worked great! Thanks for the posting. Same thing happened to me. Followed virgil's instructions and worked like a charm.

Once you find " Take it out, put it back and it's fixed. Mine updated this morning, only took about 30 seconds for me and all was well. Only problem I had was figuring out where some of the stations moved to. Second Lieutenant. Manually move it to another station. For instance hists 1 was on my channel 1 this morning. It came up as "call sirius for service" Hit the back arrow and choose a different station manually.

Like channel 2 hits1. Originally Posted by MacR6. Private First Class. I messed with it, all day, at work. Ended up finding a write-up on Google. Did a hard reset by pulling the fuse, letting it sit for a couple minutes, then putting it back in. Started the car, did the Sync maintenance update, shut the car off, then turned it back on. Everything seems to be working ok, now. I don't even want that Sirius crap in there.

Wish I could delete it out of the system. Just one more thing to break. Spixelz Guest Oct 19, Doesn't appear to be tryng to find a signal, either. I have tried resetting the radio, I have pulled the fuse for a number of minutes, but when the radio restarts Sirius is still stuck on the same channel with no aduio or anything.

Thoughts or ideas? I really don't want to be pulling apart my dash in the middle of winter to start unplugging stuff I know the original post was a couple of months ago, but I wanted to say thanks to the guy who said to disconnect that battery. That worked for me. I searched for hours on google trying to find a solution to my problem.

Typeing everything I could think of. I too thought maybe I forgot to pay my bill, but that wasn't the problem. But everyone wants to suggest that first. Then they say to replace it or repair it. I even talked to someone about just getting a new one. But I have all the Options, such as the camera and bluetooth. It would have been expensive to change radios, and I like this one when it works. The installer didn't even want to touch my car, because he never even seen a smart car before.

So off to the Internet I went. Searching, and searching. And then I came across this post. I found other sites of people with the same problem, but know one ever comes back and states if the suggestion works. Not even on this sight, so I wanted to make sure people knew. So off to fix it I went.

I didn't even know where my battery was, so I had to do a little research. The battery was under the passenger Floorboard. Who Knew? And after 5 minutes, I plugged it in and as I said it worked. Then I told myself, I would get back on and post this. But then I had problems with this site. I was trying to use my computer at work, but it wouldn't access this site very well, on version of internet explorer or a firewall problem wouldn't show the graphic to type the password.

Then I type things wrong and I could establish account. I hate those pictures that I have to type the text. I always get the 1IL mixed up and It usually take me like 10 times to get it right. Did I say I hate them.
